Connect & Navigate: A Digital Literacy Workshop

Connect & Navigate is designed to help participants feel confident using technology safely and effectively. This hands-on workshop provides friendly, step-by-step guidance through one-on-one help, small group sessions, and demonstrations on everyday tech, online safety, and protecting your devices. Volunteers from Blacks In Technology and Say Y.E.S. Foundation, Inc.—called Digital Navigators—will help with tasks like setting up and organizing email, using smartphones and computers, making video calls, and navigating trusted apps and online services.

A key focus of the workshop is staying safe online. Participants will learn how to spot scam emails and messages, protect personal information, manage privacy settings, and create strong passwords. Digital Navigators will also guide participants through checking device security settings and using built-in protection tools on laptops, tablets, and smartphones. This support is educational and preventative—no device repairs will be performed.
